Cancer, Everything Is About to Spiral Out of Control: Here’s What’s Coming!
Cancer, you know the difference between a bad day and the uneasy feeling that something has been building for weeks. Lately, you may have been smoothing over small disappointments because dealing with them felt harder than keeping the peace. Now a changed plan or an unexpected request could bring those feelings to the surface. Read to the end, because the person you rush to comfort may also be the person you need an honest answer from.
The Small Favor That Takes Over Your Week
It may begin with a request that sounds easy enough. Someone needs you to cover a task, make a call, or listen while they work through another difficult situation. You care about them, and you know how much a little help can mean. Then the favor grows. A second request follows the first, your own plans get pushed back, and you realize you have become responsible for something you never agreed to manage.
The tricky part is that nobody may have explicitly asked you to do all of it. You notice what needs fixing and step in before anyone else thinks to ask. That instinct makes you a wonderful person to have nearby during a crisis. It can also leave you exhausted and quietly angry with people who do not realize how much work you have taken on. Give them a chance to see it by saying what you have done and what you still need help with.
Be especially careful with commitments made while you feel guilty. Someone’s disappointment can be uncomfortable without being a sign that you chose badly. If you have plans of your own, keep them unless there is a genuine emergency. You can offer a time that works for you or suggest another source of support. A reasonable limit may feel unfamiliar when you are used to making yourself available first.
