About Us

Who We Are

zodiacscompass.com is an astrology portal built around a single idea: a birth chart is a map, not a fortune. A map tells you where things stand and leaves the walking to you. That is the standard we hold every page here to.

What We Actually Do

Most astrology sites are a list of adjectives attached to twelve dates. We wanted something you could use. So the centre of this site is a set of eleven calculators that compute real answers from real astronomy: your sun sign worked out from where the Sun genuinely stood on your birthday rather than from a fixed date table, your moon sign, your rising sign, the balance of elements across your chart, and a full natal chart with every planet, house and angle drawn as a proper wheel.

All of it runs in your browser. Nothing you type — not your birth date, not your birth time, not your name — is ever sent to us, logged, or stored. There is no account to make and nothing to opt out of, because there is nothing being collected in the first place.

What You Will Find Here

Alongside the calculators there is a full encyclopedia of the four elements, the three modalities, the ten planets and the twelve houses; in-depth profiles of all twelve signs; a compatibility tool covering every pairing; and long-form guides on the questions people actually arrive with — what a rising sign is, why a birth time matters, and what a retrograde does and does not do.

How We Write

Three rules govern everything on this site.

We show the working. Every calculator states the method behind its answer and what that answer depends on. The compatibility scores explain which angle and which ruling planets produced the number, so you can disagree with the reasoning rather than just the result.

We say when we do not know. If your birth time is missing, the moon sign tool tells you the answer could genuinely be the neighbouring sign instead of quietly assuming noon and presenting a guess as a fact. If a date falls on a cusp, we say so. A tool that hides its uncertainty is worse than no tool.

We write about the whole sign. Every sign has a shadow side, and the description of how a sign behaves under pressure is usually more useful than the description of it at its best. We do not flatter twelve groups of people in rotation.

A Note on Astrology

We enjoy this subject and we are straightforward about what it is: astrology is a symbolic tradition, not a science. The astronomy underneath our calculators is real and we have checked it carefully — the planetary positions are genuinely correct. What those positions are taken to mean is tradition and interpretation, not measurement, and no arrangement of planets causes anything to happen in a life.

Read this way, astrology is a good set of prompts: a vocabulary for noticing patterns you may already half-recognise in yourself. Read as prediction, it stops being interesting and becomes an excuse. For real decisions about your health, your money, or your relationships, talk to someone qualified.
