Fixed
Fixed signs sit at the middle of each season, where things settle. They sustain what has begun — relationships, projects, positions — and they are the hardest signs in the zodiac to move once decided.

Its Strength
They finish. Fixed energy is what carries something through the unglamorous middle, long after the excitement of starting has worn off.
Where It Struggles
The same steadiness becomes stubbornness. Fixed signs can defend a position past the point where they still believe in it, simply because changing feels like losing.

The Three Modalities
What Fixed Means
Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius sit in the middle of each season, and their job is to hold. They arrive once something is underway and keep it going, at a consistent output, for as long as it takes - which is the definition of both loyalty and stubbornness depending on who is describing it.
Taurus holds resources, Leo holds attention, Scorpio holds intensity, Aquarius holds a position. In each case the energy goes into maintenance rather than initiation, and in each case the sign is far harder to move than it first appears.
This is the modality that finishes things, and it is chronically underrated in a culture that celebrates starting them.
Where Fixed Struggles
Changing direction. A fixed sign that has committed to something will continue committing to it well past the point where the evidence has turned, and will experience being asked to reconsider as being asked to capitulate.
There is also a tendency to mistake duration for validity. Something maintained for a long time acquires a legitimacy in fixed thinking that has nothing to do with whether it is still worth maintaining.
And fixed signs dig in hardest precisely when they are least sure. The certainty on display is frequently inversely related to the certainty underneath it, which is worth knowing before pushing.
Two Fixed Signs Together
Neither will move first. That is the entire dynamic, and it is why fixed-to-fixed pairings produce the longest standoffs in the zodiac - not loud conflict, but a disagreement that simply does not resolve, sometimes for years.
The compensating strength is real: two fixed signs who have committed to each other will stay committed through circumstances that would end most relationships. The endurance is not in question. Only the flexibility is.
What makes it workable is an explicit agreement about who yields on which category, made in advance, in a calm moment - because it will not be negotiable in a live one.
