You Are Allowed to Notice When Empathy Becomes Extra Work
Pisces, you understand that people have complicated lives. Look at the choices in front of you. Are you considering taking on another task because a colleague seems overwhelmed, even though your own workload is full? Try stating your limit in plain language. “I can help with this part, but I cannot take over the project.” “I like spending time with you, and I need us both to make plans.” These requests leave room for the other person to respond. They also prevent you from silently collecting disappointments until you feel you have no choice but to disappear.
Their response deserves attention. Some people will realize they have relied on you too heavily and make an effort. Others may give you another moving explanation without changing anything. You do not need to judge their character to decide how much of yourself you can continue to give.
