The Goal You Chose Still Deserves Your Time
September’s disruption could make you especially protective of a goal you have been working toward. You may have set aside time to apply for a role, sort out your finances, or finish something you care about. Those plans are easy to postpone because nobody else is waiting for them. That does not make them less important than the requests arriving in your inbox.
Put one part of your goal back on the calendar before the month ends. Choose a step you can complete, such as sending the application, reviewing the numbers, or asking for the meeting you need. You do not have to make enormous progress in a few days. You do need to give this plan the same attention you would give a commitment made to someone else.
The small step may bring information you did not expect. An opportunity could have a different timeline, or a financial choice might look better once you see the actual figures. Perhaps you discover that your original target no longer suits the life you want. That is useful to know now. A plan can change because you have learned something, rather than because other people keep taking the time you reserved for it.
